Banana Pudding

It's Nana Pudding Time...
This is an easy recipe for banana pudding.

You will need:
2 large packages of instant vanilla pudding
8 ounces sour cream
1 large container Cool Whip
1 large box vanilla wafers
3 large bananas
milk

Mix the pudding with milk according to the directions on the package.

Carefully stir in the sour cream and half the cool whip.

Slice the bananas and add to this mixture.

Cover the bottom of a dish with vanilla wafers.
Layer the pudding mixture, then wafers, then pudding mixture, then wafers, then pudding mixture.

Top with cool whip and arrange wafers around the edges.
Refrigerate.
Enjoy!!!

Just looking through some before and after pictures from Mid South Land Clearing.

Burlap Table Runner

Thank you, Pioneer Woman, for your
inspiration today.
The burlap table runner she used on her table during her Food Network show today was the inspiration I needed for making my own burlap table runner.
It was very easy to make and added to my Easter table setting.
Glad I just happen to have an extra piece of burlap lying around.

Pecan Pie Cake

I accidentally discovered a new dessert this weekend.
I mixed up the ingredients to make a pecan pie, and then discovered that I had no flour for making the crust.  So...I pondered what to do with the filling.
I had no idea if this would work...but I decided to try the base for Paula Dean's butter gooeys as a crust.  I put this crust in a 9x12 glass pan that was sprayed with Pam for Baking.
I then poured the filling on top.
My family loved it.
The pie wound up on the bottom, the cake and pecans ended up on the top.
The entire recipe follows:

Pie filling:
3 eggs
1 cup Karo light syrup
1 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons margarine (melted)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup pecans

1 yellow cake mix
1 stick margarine (melted)
1 egg

Press cake mix mixture in the bottom of a 9x12 baking dish sprayed with Pam for Baking.
Mix together ingredients for filling and pour on top of the cake mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until set.
Enjoy!

Bring On Spring

I love buttercups...

They can be placed in just about any container.

This is one of my favorites.

Temperatures are still very cold around here, but the daffodils don't seem to mind.
I pick them when they bend over and break, and they just continue to bloom.

My Brother's Backyard

Is it really fair for someone to have a yard that looks this nice in the middle of February???

We have made another trip to my brother's house for his birthday.
Once again, his yard is amazing.
This is a new kind of Lenten Rose (hellebore).

This week, he is very busy getting ready for the Nashville Lawn and Garden Fair.
My class and I enjoyed watching him on the local noon news programs promoting the show.

There is still time to visit the Lawn and Garden Fair this weekend... or, you could simply visit his backyard.

(This is the goldfish having a meeting.)

Simply beautiful.
