This is some really good cornbread.
We had a pot luck meal at school.
The teachers all brought a dish.
The Fifth Grade teacher brought this delicious cornbread.
To make some for yourself, you need the following ingredients:
1 cup cornmeal
3 eggs
8 ounces sour cream
8 counces cream style corn
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil
Mix these ingredients together and bake in a greased pan in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes.
Cut into pieces.
This cornbread has a sweet cake-like taste.
It goes great with soup or chili.

Happy Easter

I hope your Easter Sunday has been very special.
At our house, we have a few yearly traditions.
Everything starts with my daughter's "egg tree".
She goes into the Big Woods and chooses the perfect tree. It is then set up and decorated as she chooses. The Easter Bunny usually leaves a chocolate bunny under this special tree.
The Easter Bunny also hides little tiny chocolate bunnies all over our house. We are usually still finding chocolate bunnies well into summer.
And, of course we have just returned from our church's Sunrise Service. I hope you have the chance to attend Sunrise Services wherever you live. They are always very special and meaningful.
We will rest a little while and return to church for our regular Sunday Easter Service.
There will be beautiful singing and celebration of the resurrection of Jesus.
Have a wonderful Easter!!!

The Big Woods are Green

My camera came back home.....
Sorry for my absence, but my camera suddenly died.
I took a chance on sending it to an online repair shop, and it worked!!!
My camera arrived yesterday, and it is just like new!!!
My... haven't things changed in the Big Woods in just a few short weeks.

Everything is green.
It really seems sometimes like everything turns green overnight.
I have so much to share with you. A new recipe is coming soon, and I have more outdoor pictures.
Have a great day!!!

It is spring time in the Big Woods. I have soooo many pictures I want to take for you. But, as luck would have it, I had to send my camera to the camera doctor. I hope it will come back to me soon.

Until then, I have borrowed my daughter's camera to get a shot of these spring time bluebells.
Happy Spring.

The orchid my Nashville brother gave me for my birthday is doing quite well. I put 3 ice cubes on top of the dirt every Friday. This is easy for me to remember...much better than trying to remember to water a plant and trying to figure how much to water.

I thought I would show you the orchids my Nashville brother has in his kitchen. He has had these for a long time, and it seems they are always blooming.
