Little Family in the Big Woods

If I had to pick my all time favorite picture, this just might be it.  This is Precious Kitty looking out our kitchen window.  I took the picture quite a while ago, but every time I look through my pictures, it is the picture that always catches my attention.  Precious Kitty has always been a house cat.  I just wonder what she is thinking while she looks out this window.

Isn't this a beautiful flower? It was made by a dear friend of mine, and a wonderful friend to my Lynchburg sister.  She made it from a sweater.  I think she is very talented.  You wear these flowers on your sweater or blouse like a pin.  Lovely!!!

Another house plant from my Nashville Brother's home.   I love this one. We have had a great day.  My daughter and I have been on a shopping trip. Luckily, I happen to think that I might find an internet coupon or two to print before we headed out. This site is now on my favorites.

Oddly enough, it is spring,  and I am still crocheting winter hats.   I could not resist trying this one.   I ordered the pattern from a shop on Etsy, and it came the next day for me to download and print on my computer. The patttern is very simple, and it only took me a few hours to crochet the hat.  I can't wait to try it on my great niece to see how it looks.  I think it will be terribly fun for her to wear. It is time... it is time for a little break... just a small one... one week to be exact. It is time... for a little yard work... a little house cleaning... maybe a little shopping. It is time... to sleep late... to rest and relax... to enjoy the sunshine.

We just never know where we are going to find this cat.  She found this bag in our bedroom last week, and she slept there for several hours.  I kept hearing her, but it took me a little while to find where she was hiding.

Yesterday, I had a nice trip to the Lawn and Garden Fair.  I always come home with great ideas and inspiration to begin working in my own yard. The pictures I share with you today are not from the Lawn and Garden Fair, but are more pictures from my brother's back yard. I love these pictures because they show what is possible now...at the beginning of March. Spring is showing itself all over his yard. The pansies are always beautiful. Only one more week of school, and we are out for a week of Spring Break.  I can't wait to get out and work in my own yard.

Do you have a favorite popcorn bowl??? I think mine is probably a little strange. Popcorn just does not taste right unless it is served in my favorite metal bowl. This is the same bowl I ate popcorn out of as a little girl.  It has been around a long time. It is also the same bowl I use as the top of my double boiler when making coconut creme pies. Do you have a favorite popcorn bowl???

My brother's home has gorgeous flowers both inside and out.  This is one of his house plants. When I whine about wanting flowers like his, he reminds me that this is what he does for a living.  I can't grow flowers the way he does; he would have trouble teaching kids. Tomorrow is the opening day for the Nashville Lawn and Garden Show at the Tennessee State Fair Grounds.  If you live in this area, you'll want to be there!!!

Our church has received the most unique blessing. T. Randy Stevens has co-written a new book, The Banker's Greed .  He has decided to do something very unique with the proceeds of this book. He is giving half the money to his home church and half the money to his good friend's church. (Which just happens to be the church I attend.) We are so excited about this opportunity.
