Crochet Round Pillow

If you haven't caught on by now, I just love Lucy's blog over at http://www.attic24.typepad.com/.  She has wonderful crocheting tutorials that walk you through projects step by step with pictures.  I have been following her flat circle tutorial to make a round pillow.  I just recently finished the pillow by crocheting both sides together around a pillow form.
I had the hardest time finding a round pillow form.  I finally ordered three from a lady on Etsy.  There were none at the craft stores around here, and there were none available to order from these same stores online.  Any suggestions???
I will show my finished pillow in my next post.

Pizza Spaghetti

I love, love, love to make this dish.
Kids love, love, love to eat this dish.
This has become my favorite thing to make for Sunday dinners at church.
You will need:
1 pound ground beef  (browned and drained)
12 ounces spaghetti noodles  1 package pepperoni
4 Tablespoons margarine  4 Tablespoons Parmesan Cheese
24 ounces mozzarella        26 ounces spaghetti sauce
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cook the 12 ounces of spaghetti noodles according to package directions.  Rinse and drain.
Melt 4 tablespoons margarine and add to noodles along with 4 tablespoons Parmesan.  Toss well.
Press into large casserole dish.
Layer 12 ounces Mozzarella,
ground beef,
26 ounces spaghetti sauce,
12 ounces mozzarella cheese,
and 1 (4-ounce) package pepperoni.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
Cut in sections to serve.
Yum...
Enjoy...
All you need now is a salad and bread.

Wordle - blog

Sorry I have been away for a few days.
I just returned from a trip with some fellow teachers to a conference in Nashville.
We had a nice trip.
I learned some new things that I will be able to use in my classroom this fall.
But, who wants to think about the new school year now???
I did get some URL's to some really neat websites.
Click on the link below to see something I made using the most current words from my blog.
Wordle - blog
Apparently, I say "flowers and beautiful" a lot.
That's why they are bigger than the other words.
I can think of all kinds of ways to use this website in my classroom.
Preassessment - what do you know about _______________?
Make a wordle.
Then, after you have taught the content, make a new wordle with their new vocabulary,
and then compare the two wordles.
But, we don't want to think about the new school year yet???
Remember???
These wordles would make really cute t-shirts.
Maybe I need a blogging wordle t-shirt.
Or better yet, maybe I should create one with words describing summer vacation!!!

Roses By the Bed

When I first got the idea of putting flowers on my bedside table, I never thought I would have so many opportunities with so many different kinds of flowers.
They seem to just keep showing up from all kinds of places.
Do you recognize these???
Yes, they are from this past weekend's wedding.
My nephew and his beautiful bride are honeymooning, while we here at home are enjoying their beautiful flowers.  And they are beautiful.  I still love the idea they used at the wedding of displaying them in different size fruit jars.

Country Wedding

We interrupt today's Sunday Fun Read to bring you my nephew's wedding.  My nephew was married last night in the middle of a beautiful hayfield of daisies far out in the country.
The theme of the wedding was honoring the family that for generations has owned the land.  Because of the location, the decorations included anything old fashioned...including the escort in...
All the flowers were arranged in old fashioned fruit jars...

The setting was just beautiful...
There was a dance floor...
And lots of old fashioned decorations...
And at the end of the night...
After everyone left...
All that remained were some petals in the grass...
And one very happy couple!!!

Oh Boy!

This is a beautiful pot of flowers sitting on the table beside my Lynchburg Sister's pool.
Very calming.
I need calming today.
My son just got his driver's license this morning.
He is extremely excited.
I am very calm.
His license test administrator was one of my former students.
Lucky for him, she liked being in my class.
I have tried to remember where I went the first time I drove by myself after getting my license.
I can't believe the memory is so vague.
I am pretty sure I drove to church for youth group.
I do remember being really nervous when I took my driving test.
Oh well...
This starts a new chapter in our book.
I have a feeling I will be putting lots of fresh calming flowers beside my bed the next few weeks.
