Barn Party

The weather in the Big Woods last weekend was perfect for hosting a Barn Party. We had some friends over to shoot skeet and eat with us.  My husband named the evening Skeets and Eats. It was a great opportunity once again to set up the long table. I love this shot with the big tree at the end. This is my favorite tree down by the barn. We grilled hot dogs, ate chili, sausage balls, and pecan pie.

Fall

  It's fall in the Big Woods.   That means, it is time for the dogwood trees to show out with their beautiful red berries. The leaves on the soybeans are beginning to turn yellow. And, the persimmon trees are loaded, and the persimmons are beginning to ripen. Winter is not far behind.

Cherry Fluff

This is a very simple and delicious dessert recipe. It is a dessert that I have made often. The recipe originally came from my Sewing Sister, and she often makes it using sugar free filling and fat free ingredients. You will need: 1 large box vanilla instant pudding and pie filling 3 cups cold milk 12 ounces cool whip graham crackers cherry pie filling Cover the bottom of a decorative bowl with graham crackers.   Don't worry about how they look...just completely cover the bottom. Mix the box of pudding and pie filling with the 3 cups milk according to the package directions. Stir the cool whip into the pie filling mixture.   Cover the graham crackers with 1/3 of the mixture. Cover with graham crackers. Then continue layering with mixture, crackers, mixture. Now open the pie filling. (This is a very difficult recipe.)
