Dog Days

There is a weekend flea market that is held in a field in Ardmore, Tennessee, that is called the Dog Days Flea Market.  I have been there several times, but this was my first year to go on Labor Day.  Wow!!!  The crowd was unbelievable.

My husband and I got there around 6:00 a.m.!  I did not understand why we had to go so early, until we got ready to leave and come home around 9:00 a.m.  The line of cars coming in was backed up forever...I am sure they had about an hour to wait just to get to the parking area.  I was really glad we had gotten up early.

This flea market is very unique.  There is a large variety of booths.  They even sell live animals...dogs, ducks, chickens, etc.  I focused on the antique booths, and I had a great time shopping and bargaining.

My purchases for the day totaled $8.00.  I am still amazed at what all I got for $8.00.  Over the next few days, I am going to share with you some pictures of my bargains.

This first item I was not even intending to buy.  I actually had asked the lady for a price on another very small pottery item.  (I'll show it to you next time.)  She told me there were three pieces that went together, and she would let me have them for $1.00.  You can't exactly beat that for a deal.
This little blue candle holder fits nicely on my dining room hutch.

I especially liked this purchase, because it just came along
with something else.
