On Friday night, our church held its very first Mother/Daughter Banquet. It was a night that I desperately needed. It was so relaxing and fun.
The ladies organization had the Fellowship Hall beautifully decorated. We were served a delicious meal and then the entertainment began.
After playing some fun and silly games, we were entertained by a duet that sang the most beautiful songs, and my own daughter sang a lovely song acapella. We then enjoyed a wonderful speaker who reminded us of the importance of being Godly mothers. She also reminded us of the importance of praying for our children.
I thought I would share the following scripture that was read to us at this banquet. It is a beautiful reminder on this Mother's Day of our role as Mothers.
Deuteronomy 11: 18-21
"Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land that the Lord swore to give your forefathers, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth."
